XIAODAN HE

Xiaodan He is a film director, writer and producer. She is the first producer and director of Chinese immigration to obtain government grants in Canada and Quebec for the production of a feature film.

 

She studied film production as a producer's major at the Beijing Film Academy. Then, she worked as an assistant producer and director in the Yunnan Minority Film Studio in China. In 2002, Xiaodan immigrated to Quebec, Canada to pursue filmmaking. In 2020, Xiaodan was nominated as an Excellent Chinese immigrant in Canada by the Chinese Embassy in Canada. She is appointed by the Quebec Arts Council in the jury committee for the fiction film section. Recently, Xiaodan is selected by the Fiction Toolbox of Berlinale 2022.
